This one-day symposium will highlight the critical role of physical and numerical modeling in improving early warning systems and decision-making for natural hazards in Rwanda. Discussions will focus on landslides, floods and Lake Kivu instability, bringing together Rwandan institutions, policymakers, and international experts to explore how modelling can complement monitoring and support actionable forecasting.

The event is organized in partnership with the East African Institute for Fundamental Research (EAIFR), UNESCO IGCP, and national and international partners.
