Jean Felix did various things during his two weeks visit at ISTerre in October including learning the basics of the use of COMSOL when solving for stationary solutions in mechanics(elasticity), where he used the example of load applied to the surface considering various load shapes and geometries (2D axisymmetric, 2D plane strain, 3D).
He did also an analogue experiment which is injecting given volume of air inside a gelatin tank and applied surface loads.
Lastly he attended a joint meeting organised by the volcano team of ISTerre and the volcano group of the University of Geneva (program attached) and a team meeting with several master presentations.
